About Me

HI, I’m Ben.

I’m an organizational builder who works at the intersection of strategy, systems, and communication.

I don't just plan. I build.

My career has followed an unusual path — graphic designer, web developer, university professor, communications director, strategic planning leader, and for the past 13 years, a business owner running a creative practice alongside all of it.

What ties it together is a consistent pattern: I come into situations where something needs to exist that doesn’t yet, and I build it. A planning framework. A communication system. A team. A process that scales. I figure out how it should work, design the pieces, and make it happen — while bringing the people around me along for the ride.

At Washington State University, I built the systemwide strategic planning function from scratch. I developed the processes, the platforms, the dashboards, the reporting cycles, and the communication infrastructure, then scaled it across six campuses and multiple colleges, working directly with chancellors, vice presidents, and executive leadership. It was the most meaningful work of my career because it was genuinely new and genuinely consequential.

I’m energized by mission-driven organizations, by building things that outlast my involvement, and by the moment when a team that was uncertain starts moving forward together with real clarity and momentum.

I’m currently based in Meridian, Idaho and open to director-level roles in organizational strategy, operations, and communications leadership.

I’ve built my career at the intersection of creativity and strategy.

Each step of my career has built on the last—combining creativity, communication, and leadership.

K

Strategic Planning & Execution

I’ve built strategic planning functions from the ground up — frameworks, implementation processes, annual cycles, dashboards, and the reporting systems that keep leadership accountable. I know how to move a plan from vision to measurable action across a complex organization.

K

Systems & Operatoins

I design operational infrastructure: the platforms, workflows, training, and processes that make things work consistently at scale. I’ve onboarded entire university campuses to new planning systems. I don’t just recommend — I build and run.

K

Communications & Creative Production

I produce executive communications, stakeholder campaigns, websites, annual reports, brand systems, and multimedia content — not as a separate service, but as an integrated part of the strategic work. The message and the system reinforce each other.

I’ve grown from designer to strategist, building a wide range skills that bridge both worlds.
