Annual Planning Cycle
Annual Planning Cycle
Employer: Washington State University
Client Location: Pullman, Washington
Date: 2022-2025
Scope: The annual planning cycle was one of the most complex and rewarding projects I led. It required mapping out what planning activities needed to happen when, what other initiatives overlapped, and how it all tied together.
The “Annual Cycle of Planning” model was my brainchild—a way to phase out the process so it was easy to follow. To complement that, I designed a Gantt-style calendar that showed how the pieces interacted across the year. These tools became guides for leadership, helping them anticipate and coordinate planning efforts.
This work was both a massive puzzle and one of my proudest accomplishments. It took countless meetings, deep dives into institutional processes, and a lot of iteration to get right.
